MY STORY

Hello!

​

My name is Dhara. I grew up in Ontario, Canada, where I completed a philosophy degree (BA) at McMaster University. While philosophy can seem abstract and far-removed from our everyday lives, it taught me to learn to think in a clear and succinct way. Some of the courses I took include metaphysics, theory of knowledge, formal logic, and political philosophy.

After completing my degree, I applied for the BCS program at UBC. The BCS program is a second degree program for computer science. I am currently in my second semester, and I look forward to getting relevant work experience in the upcoming fall.

I aim to have a career in software development, though I am also particularly interested in applying philosophical principles to examine the limits and potential of technological progress.

​

Aside from my academic and professional goals, I enjoy cooking, making memories with friends, writing and reading fiction, and working out.
